Social Studies Component
For the Social Studies component of my PBL project I have decided to write about the Social aspects of this project.In life it is probably safe to say that most people want to succeed in life right? So say that two people want to live in New York City one persons job is a waitress which is a very low paying job, and the other person is a landscape architect which is a very high paying job.
So if New York City is such an expensive place to live then why do so many people want to live there.Well lets see what does New York City has: The Empire State Building,The Statue of Liberty,Brooklyn Bridge,Central Park,Grand Central Station,American Museum of Natural History,Staten Island Ferry,Chrysler Building,Yankee Stadium,Coney Island,Brooklyn Museum,Macy's Flagship Store,Times Square,The Metropolitan Museum of Art,Citi Field,Rockefeller Center,New York Transit Museum,St. Patrick's Cathedral,United Nations Headquarters, and many others.Beside its a very diverse city and that means you can do just about anything in New York City, and go just about any where from New York City.
My project is about real world jobs, I chose a minimum wage job and a job that requires a minimum four year college degree job. I compared the two different lifestyles that would result from having those two jobs. Depending on the job salary and person.I found that as a landscape architect you will make plenty of money to live in New York City and have plenty of money to put in to savings.I also found that for being a waitress you will not make enough money to live in New York City .
Have you ever read the routes about New York City like;
